Blogger Exchange!

So I was smart enough to join in on Covered in Glitter and Glue and Adventures of Ms. Smith's super fun Back to School Blogger Exchange. I'm so glad I did because I got to meet the awesome and inspiring Krista from The Second Grade Superkids. I have to admit ever since I got her name in the exchange, I have been Inst-stalking her. ;) She is so active and fun and has the cutest pup! Besides her personal life that I've invaded, she is a dedicated and hard-working teacher. She creates very cute and educational things for her classes in English AND Spanish! I know she's a blogger that I am definitely going to keep up with and you should too! Anyways, these are the super cute things that she got me. Please forgive me now for the horrible picture and my nosey pup.

Really? It's August??

This summer flew by! I would love to say that I got so much accomplished but I didn't. *sad face* Didn't lose 20 lbs, didn't go on a boat, didn't post on TPT (but that could be happening soon!) Oh well. I definitely relaxed and got started on my Reading Endorsement. Anyway, time to link up with Oh, Boy 4th Grade for Currently!

Listening: Friends is my favorite show! I could watch it every night. Oh wait, I do!

Loving: My parents are here from Florida for a month. It's nice to have them around. I want to do something fun with them before I go back to work. Maybe Put-In-Bay?

Thinking: I made it about 3 months of half living with my brother and my bf. I NEED my own place! I love all the time I spend with them but I need my space to do my own thing like craft and spread out. So I'm going house hunting on Sunday. Coolest thing...my BFF is a realtor. :)

Wanting: I love cleaning out and decorating my room! I can't wait to get in there. I ended the school year totally sick and basically stuffed everything everywhere so I know I have tons to do but oh well!

Needing: I need to keep losing weight and get in shape. I've been beyond lazy this summer. Completely opposite of what I wanted to do. So I'm trying to hit the gym everyday. 

B2S must haves: 1. Need to print and laminate all my cute and educational things that I bought on TPT this year.

2. I love to get a fresh haircut and color before school starts. I'm thinking red ombre again. 

3. I love to label everything so I always have a Sharpie on-hand!

TPT ideas needed!! :)

Hi everyone!! I am ------>  <------ close to being done with my summer class for my Reading Endorsement! So now I'm moving on to do the few things I put on my Summer Bucket list. Next up: Put something up on TPT! It will be free but I don't know what to do. I have too many ideas floating around in my head. So any suggestions? I teach 2nd/3rd so I'd like it to be something I can use in my class also.

Saturday Snapshots!

I'm linking up with Run! Miss Nelson's Got the Camera for her weekly Saturday Snapshots. It's fun to post pictures of my week. Next week's will be better though. I didn't do much this week. Even with the holidays. Well without further ado...

The handsome bf and I went miniature golfing for a date night. We haven't done this in years and it was on my Summer Bucket List! CHECK!!

I don't know why we were looking every which way but the camera but here we are. I have to snap quick. He hates if we are "that couple" that takes a picture together all the time. Aye, that boy!

After class on Monday, my co-workers and I went to lunch. It's so good to just sit and talk without the stress of everyday school stuff. We had a fantastic time and I'm so lucky to work with them!

Randomness! I know! I finally broke down and got my Silhouette Cameo this week! SO much fun to play with and these were the first two things that I made. A Candy Caddy (we love candy at my house) and a nametag for Bort (the bf's tarantula). I'm going to venture out into cutting fabric this week for a banner for work. I'll let you know how it goes. 

And finally no week can be complete without a picture of the love of my life! I just love the tongue! lol

Friday night fun!

It's Friday night and I just finished my homework. I'm such a nerd and on top of that...old. I don't even feel like going out. I'm quite content sitting in bed, reading about Literacies, with my pup curled up next to me and listening to the sweet sounds of the bf in the other room saving the world from robot animals or zombies or something that is destroying the world. lol.
Since I was doing homework that is also code for pinning on Pinterest. So Favorite Pins Friday is the perfect linky for me!

I thought this would be a great Get to know ya/Back to School activity to do with the kiddies. 

This is my favorite book ever! The link is to reasons why you should do it as a read aloud in your 2nd-5th grade class. I tear up everytime I read it. (Just a note: No one dies. I can't read aloud books where anyone or anything dies. My kids have to wait for another teacher to read them Charlotte's Web because I can't)

I finally got my Cameo! And I'm in love! I love playing around and getting to know her. This site has been great for the basics. 

I'm an Ohio girl! And I just love to spread the love!  

LOL! This is so me! Just more proof that I'm getting old. :)

July Currently!

It's Currently time already!! And it's not even July! ;) It's a good day to get this out though. So link up with Farley and get your Currently on!

Listening: Kinda self explanatory. 

Loving: I'm taking a class also this summer but I do have plenty of downtime. I love it. 

Thinking: I still hate going to the gym but I'm making myself go. How many times before it gets easier?

Wanting: So I sold my condo in May. I was thinking that it would be great to save money and move into my parents' old house (they live in Florida now) with my brother, sis in law and 4 year old niece. It's a nice size but since I came in last, I have no place to put my stuff. The other part was that I spend most of my time at my bf house. It's waaaaay too small for me to move in there full time. So I'm half way into two places. Not too fun. So I'm thinking of getting my own place. We'll see. 

Needing: I have a do a unit for my class using the backwards design method. I really want to do something that I will use this year. Any ideas for 3rd grade?

Tips: I love looking at pictures so that's my tip. :)

Five for...not Friday...

Yes, I know it Saturday but I just wanted to link up with Doodle Bugs Five for Friday this week. So here I go!

1. This week started off by coming home from Florida. I got to spend on fantastic week with my fantastic parents. We were so lazy together! It was great! I was only able to spend about 2 hours a day by the pool though because I really thought I was going to melt away!

2. Monday was Puppypalooza at the Cleveland Indians game. My bf and I took Bailey (my Yorkie) to the game. We got to walk on the field and then watch the game. He was so well behaved and we had a great time!

3. I love teaching 3rd grade and to ensure that I can continue to do that in Ohio I have to get my Reading Endorsement so it's back to school I go! The good part about this is that my school district gave us the opportunity to get grants to go and get this endorsement. a few friends and I were chosen. So I'm not doing this alone. So now I need to buy a new college sweatshirt. :)

4. I've made a Summer Bucket List and I added Go to the Gym 25 times. I've gone 3 times so far. But I like it. It's the getting there that's the hard part. 

5. I started thinking about my classroom for next year. I went to JoAnn's and found some cute fabric for  my bulletin boards. So I'm thinking that these colors will be cute for the rest of the room. What do you think?

Better late than never....June Currently

So I know I'm late to the party but hey...at least I showed! ;)

So here's my June Currently...thanks to Farley.

Listening... I'm from Cleveland and I know I should be over it but I can't forget LeBron's betrayal! So goooo Spurs! 

Loving....that I have time to spend with my mom and pops this week. I have one week off before I start classes to get my Reading Endorsement so I'm going to have some fun in the sun and get spoiled. :)

Thinking... I know I just started break but I really want to get all organized for the next school year. Now if only I knew what grade I'm going to teach! 

Wanting...I figure having a cameo Silhouette would help get my ideas flowing for prepping for next year. But is it worth it???

Needing... I must get healthy this summer. I have zero excuse not to hit the gym everyday. I'll keep you updated on my progress.

Happy Friday everyone! Wish it didn't mean the end of my Spring Break but whatcha' gonna do?

It's been a nice and relaxing break. Can't say I did too much but I did nap. And I L-O-V-E naps!

My Easter was relatively calm. Just the bf, the pup and myself. I made pot roast. We laid around all day. We dressed my pup up as a bunny. It was a good day. :)

I bought myself an early birthday present. I've been dying for a new camera for years! So this pretty baby is now mine. 

I was also able to spend time with this little cutie. I love spending time with my niece. And considering I'm moving in with her at the end of the month...this is just the beginning of all the fun we are going to have!

This is my second year as our school's girls' track coach. I love it! The kids are so fun to work with. I'm used to my little 3rd graders and I actually do like the change of working with 7th and 8th graders. They get my humor. We had two practices over Spring Break. Didn't do too much running outside because of the SNOW and COLD but we did get some training in the library.

And finally, I've been laminating like there is no tomorrow! I'm actually getting excited (and anxious) about the next two weeks at work. It's the FINAL COUNTDOWN to our state tests. I like to try to make this review time as fun as possible and I'm looking forward to using One Extra Degree's Test Prep Blitz.

April Currently

Well I did it once again....I went another month without blogging. Only Farley can get me to do something. :)  I really do love reading about what everyone else is up to. I'm such a voyeur. lol.

Listening: This entire Spring Break has involved me and Law & Order SVU. I am becoming too paranoid though. I swear I was being followed in a Target parking lot the other day. tee hee

Loving: SPRING BREAK BABY! Too bad it's been more like Winter Break in Ohio. Next week is suppose to finally warm up....NEXT WEEK. Greeeeat. My parents are up from Florida. They are not happy with the weather here either. ;)

Thinking: I'm moving into my parents' old house with my brother, sister-in-law and niece at the end of the month. I haven't lived with anyone for the past 5 years. This is going to be interesting to say the least! 

Needing: This is embarrassing but here's a pic. 

I'm a picker and I've been picking the polish all week. BUT I'm getting a mani on Sunday with mom. Can't wait. 

Advice: I don't have any yet.

Wow, it's March's Currently already

I can't believe it's March already and I haven't blogged since December. Way to break my resolutions. Oh well. I have been busy with school. I LOVE my class and they are keeping me on my toes. Just 30 days til our state tests and I'm starting to flip out. Because I have such a small class this year my principal seems to think that I can work miracles with my kids. I have all ELL students and most started the school reading at a pre primer level. I've moved all of them up (there Was only one way to go!) but those passages are so hard for them. Oh well. I need to have faith and keep teaching away! 

Anyway on to Farley's currently. 

Listening: the bf has been sick for a week now with a cold or something. He's been so cuddly and lazy....I love it. But I guess I do want him feeling better. ;)

Loving: everything just seems to be fitting into place lately. I'm a happy girl!

Thinking: I stalk blogs every night and I don't do any of my own. Still going to try to work on this. I guess I don't feel like I have very interesting stories to tell. 

Wanting: my brother and I have been debating on getting Dsrl cameras and darnit...he beat me to it. He got a pretty sweet looking Nikon. Now I'm really getting the itch. I'm going to try to hold out til summer. I shouldn't add more to my plate right now. Girls' track starts in 2 weeks. 

Needing: my ex is buying my condo. Looooong story but I'm happy to be getting out of it. :) But this packing stuff is so much better in theory. I kept telling myself this is going to be a perfect time to purge but so far one box is packed. That's right...One! I've got a long way to go before April 15. 

Like: kittens. Wish I wasn't allergic.

Love: kisses. Maybe it's a Hispanic thing but I kiss a lot of people. On the cheek!!!! 

Hate: ketchup....and most other condiments. Weird...I know.
